_49152481_fire.jpgA second man has been charged with murdering a baby who died in a flat fire in south London.

Dimitri Lewis, 19, was accused of killing 19-month-old Siariah Letan and attempting to murder four other people when he appeared at the Old Bailey.

Richard Kwayke, of Twickenham, south-west London, faces the same charges.

Mr Lewis, of Paddington, west London, was earlier charged with perverting the course of justice over the fire in Arnould Avenue, Camberwell, last month.

Mr Lewis, of Wilmcote House, and Mr Kwayke also face charges of arson and arson with intent to endanger life.

Carbon monoxide poisoning

Josephine Nicolas, 46, of Wilmcote House, Paddington, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

All three are due to appear at the Old Bailey on 7 January.

Siariah was one of five family members rescued from the first-floor flat but she later died.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as carbon monoxide poisoning from breathing in smoke.

Others rescued by firefighters were Violet Brenda Ricketts, 45; Shakira Jackson, 11; Ellisha Letang, 23; and four-year-old Cameron Letang.

Ms Letang remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition and the others have been allowed home.
