Caithness fire crews rescue children and puppy
- 3-31-2011
Neighbouring fire crews in Caithness have dealt with unusual call-outs within hours of each other.
Wick firefighters released two children trapped in a bathroom at a house in the town at about 1330 BST on Wednesday.
Thurso were then called out just before 1600 BST to free a small puppy stuck under a fence.
Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service (HIFRS) said the call-outs were "certainly unusual" and the crews were able to act quickly and professionally.
A spokesman added: "We were pleased to be able to assist at what must have been a stressful time for all involved."
