Driver dies after three-lorry crash on A40 at St Clears, Carmarthenshire

A 25-year-old lorry driver has died after a crash which closed the A40 in both directions at St Clears, Carmarthenshire.

The fire Service said one driver had been "severely trapped" after the crash involving three lorries at Pengawse Hill at 05:40 BST on Friday.

He was cut free and was taken to hospital with two other drivers.

The road will be closed between St Clears roundabout and Penblewin roundabout until about 17:00 BST.

Traffic has been affected between St Clears and Haverfordwest and a diversion has been set up via the A477 to Kilgetty and A478 through Narberth to the Penblewin roundabout.

Fire crews from Narberth and Whitland are helping with the clean-up operation.
