  • 8-31-2015

Two men who were killed when a car they were in crashed into a garden wall and burst into flames have been identified.

The crash happened on Poppyfields Way, Branton, Doncaster on Tuesday. A third man remains in a critical condition.

Police said the men were identified on Saturday night but their names would not be released following requests from the families.

Two men, a boy and a woman have been arrested in connection with the crash and released on bail.

The men, aged 21 and 18, and the 15-year-old boy were held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

'Second vehicle involved'

The 21-year-old woman was held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police said there had been a lot of speculation around the circumstances of the crash.

Insp Steve Askham, from the road policing unit, said: "All evidence collected by the inquiry indicates that the fire was caused purely by the circumstances of the collision.

"In addition, we are aware that there continues to be speculation over who was sitting where in the car.

"We are currently unable to establish this information so it forms part of our ongoing investigation."

Police said they were also investigating the possibility that another vehicle may have been involved in the run up to the crash and appealed for witnesses to get in touch.
